IONIA. Ephesus. Antoninus Pius, 138-161. Hexassarion (Bronze, 34 mm, 29.11 g, 6 h), Loukios Kerreinios Paitos, grammateus, 138-140. Τ ΑΙΛΙΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΑΝΤΩΝЄΙΝΟϹ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Antoninus Pius to right. Rev. ΚΑΥϹΤΡOϹ ΚЄΝΧΡЄΙΟϹ / ЄΠΙ ΠΑΙΤΟΥ / ЄΦЄϹΙΩΝ Cult-statue of Artemis Ephesia with kalathos standing facing, with supports, between river-gods Kaystros, on the left, and Kenchrios, on the right, reclining to right and left and facing each other, each holding reed and resting arm on urn from which water flows. Karwiese -. RPC IV.2 online -, cf. 1114 (differing reverse legend). Apparently unpublished. Rough and somewhat corroded, otherwise, good fine.
